Happy last day of October! Can you believe we’ve just cruised through another month? Where does the time go? Those much wiser than me always told me that time moves faster the older I get. I didn’t believe them, until now! It seems that with a blink of an eye, weeks pass. I guess that is my sign that I’m getting older!
This month has been extra rewarding from me, spending time digging into how to live out a life that is more simple and peace-filled.
This way of living has not always been my way of life. In fact, I just went through a season where I was living life opposite of simple, having said yes to paths that were not mine to take.
This one decision lead me from a simple and full-filled life to one of chaos. The result didn’t just affect me. It rippled all the way down to my family.
While I didn’t wish this chaotic lifestyle on any of us, I am glad it happened. You see, it was a gentle reminder that life will always be filled with a constant tug and pull of tasks and responsibilities. It is our job to try and orchestrate a balance in how we carry out these responsibilities.
One way to help encourage us to live life more simply is to find friends who value what you value.
Find girlfriends who not only understand the benefits of living out a more simplified life but who also live this way.
Proverbs 27:17 says,
“As iron sharpens iron, so does person sharpen another.”
Girlfriends can be a great place to help you discern when to say ‘yes’ and when to say ‘no.’ They can help you overcome the internal struggles you will encounter as you face daily decisions and hard conversations.
These friends will keep you grounded in the heavenly perspective of life!
We all need friends like this. There is no better time than now to seek these friends out.
Dear friends, I don’t know where you are on your journey towards a more simplified, peace-filled life but I do know that God is there to help you. Use Him to guide your decisions and to live life the way He intended for you to live.
While prayer is always your first step towards help, please know I’m your second help. Connect with me anytime for support and encouragement. Let’s not run this crazy journey of life alone.
Praying you through,
